Mad Dog is committed to the principle that a strong, capable, and healthy community benefits our economy, our quality of life and our community as a whole. We are committed to supporting and working with organizations that provide resources to those who cannot meet their basic needs so that they can get the help they need to work toward supporting themselves.

 

 United Way of the Big Bend

 We are proud of our decades long commitment and partnership with the United Way of the Big Bend, which funds many human service organizations throughout our region. With 100% participation from Mad Dog employees nearly every year, we have received recognition for our donations to this important organization every year since 1985 and have received the President’s Award each year from 1998–2009. Laurie and Kelly Dozier have been members of the DeToqueville Society since 1995 and have donated countless hours of volunteer time to assist the United Way with its mission.

      Kelly Dozier served on the CIAR Committee and is a Campaign Leadership member for the 2010 United Way Campaign.

 

 Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, TMH Foundation

 

    Laurie Dozier serves on the Board of the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. 

 

Community Foundation of North Florida

    Kelly Dozier serves on the Community Foundation of North Florida Board of Directors and Laurie and Kelly have established a charitable fund with the Foundation.

 

Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science

 Mad Dog participated in a volunteer build to construct the maintenance barn at the Tallahassee Museum.

 

  Tallahassee Parks and Recreation

Mad Dog Construction donated and built the first ever Lake Ella Gazebo, dedicated in 1987. We also donated the funds for the current gazebo, built by the City in 2005.

 

Goodwill Industries of the Big Bend

Goodwill provides a range of job training programs, collaborates with hundreds of businesses to provide job opportunities to those we serve, and offers programs that foster academic achievement and career aspirations among at-risk youth.

    Mad Dog donates many items to Goodwill for recycling and reuse through their used book store and the Giving Tree, a resource for Leon County School teachers.

 

Leon County Humane Society

Mad Dog is a sponsor of the annual "Fur Ball" held by the humane society to raise funds to care for our community's animals.

 

Oasis Center for Women and Girls 

 The Oasis Center for Women & Girls is a nonprofit organization in Tallahassee whose mission is to "improve the lives of women and girls through celebration and support", focused on personal, professional, and economic concerns facing women, girls and their families. 

     When Kelly Otte began to create a group of people who would support the creation of the Oasis Center for Women and Girls, one of the people she contacted was Kelly Dozier, who became the first lifetime founding member of the organization.  Since then, Kristin Dozier, Vanessa Rowse and Danielle Dozier have all become founding members and Kelly Dozier serves on the Oasis Advisory Council.

 

Zonta Club of Tallahassee - Zonta Cares

 Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.

     Kelly has been a member of the Zonta Club of Tallahassee since 1999 and participates in many community outreach programs through the Club.

 

Refuge House

 Refuge House provides direct services to battered women, their children and sexual assault survivors, as well as works to eliminate the conditions in society that allow such violence to continue.

   Mad Dog has been a longtime supporter of the Refuge House and has provided significant construction consulting services as well as donating profits from renovation services at Refuge House.

 

Women's Center of Jacksonville

 The Women’s Center of Jacksonville supports and empowers women, and nurtures mind, body and spirit.

    Kelly Dozier is a member of the Circle of 100 which supports the ongoing operations of this essential resource to women in Jacksonville.

 

The Shelter - Tallahassee /Leon County

 The Shelter provides temporary housing and meals to the homeless.

 

2-1-1 Big Bend

 A hotline service which offers telephone counseling and referral services.

    Mad Dog has been a major sponsor of 211’s annual themed benefit for over 15 years.

 

Big Bend Homeless Coalition

 Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s mission is to end homelessness in the Big Bend through leadership, education, advocacy, and the provision of quality services.

    Mad Dog and the Dozier's were instrumental in providing support for the establishment of the HOPE Community, a project of the Big Bend Homeless Coalition offering housing and life skill as well as job training for homeless families.

 

Second Harvest of the Big Bend

 Second Harvest fights hunger by obtaining and distributing food through our partner agencies for those in need. They also educate and inform the public about the problems of and solutions to hunger.

 

 

  Association of Fundraising Professionals - Big Bend Chapter

 The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 30,000 members in 213 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.  The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.

Mad Dog sponsored the 2010 National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon that is put on by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
